Why Mind The gap?

We exist to close the gap so many people fall through—the space between mental and physical health, where traditional care leaves people stuck. We utilize a whole-person, integrative approach and we take the “mystery” out of therapy: our clinicians use evidence-based, feedback-informed care to track real symptom change and double down on what's actually working. We're proud of our interdisciplinary team, where clinicians from different specialties share perspectives to give clients (and each other) better support.

Clinical Therapist Job Description

About Mind The Gap

Come do your best clinical work—without hustling for your own caseload.

At Mind The Gap, we handle the marketing, the referrals, and the intake logistics so you can focus on what you're actually here to do: help people get better. Our admin team fields initial client contacts and handles first scheduling, and we distribute clients to clinicians based on your specialization—so the people on your calendar are the people you're best suited to help. We staff toward a quarterly average of about 20 weekly clients for full-time positions and 10 weekly clients for part-time roles.

What You'll Do

  • Carry an outpatient caseload built around your clinical strengths and specialty

  • Provide individual, group, and/or couples therapy using evidence-based, feedback-informed methods

  • Track client progress through routine outcome measures—and use that data to guide care

  • Participate in our collaborative, interdisciplinary team consultation

  • Keep timely clinical documentation in our client-friendly EHR

Who You Are

  • Master's in Counseling or a related field from an accredited program

  • Fully independently licensed in Tennessee (LPC-MHSP) preferred, or very near independent licensure with a clear, imminent path to it

  • You have a defined clinical niche—you know who you serve best and why

  • You value working alongside a collaborative team rather than in isolation

What Would Set You Apart

  • Advanced certification or specialized training in a defined area (e.g., EMDR, Gottman or EFT for couples, IFS, CPT, DBT)

  • Experience or strong interest in couples work

  • Experience or strong interest in facilitating group therapy

  • A track record of building and sustaining a specialized caseload

Why Clinicians Choose Mind The Gap

  • A caseload that comes to you. We market, we generate referrals, and admin handles first contact and scheduling. You're matched to clients who fit your specialty—no scrambling to fill your own calendar.

  • W-2 stability with the autonomy to shape your practice around your strengths

  • Hybrid flexibility. In-person, telehealth, or a mix—you and each client decide what works. Most clients now move fluidly between the two.

  • Benefits: PTO, CEU allowance, and gym membership

  • Community you can feel good about. We're passionate about community involvement—regularly attending conferences and community events to provide resources and reach underserved populations. We offer some paid, non-clinical time to take part.
