The Social Exchange

A relaxed activity-based group focused on social interaction and communication

Join us for a weekly group designed for adults who want to build stronger social and communication skills in a supportive, low-pressure environment.  Using leisure and recreation as the focus, we’ll incorporate practical tools,  discussion, and opportunities to practice skills you can use in real life—at work, with family, or in the community. Olivia Wolsfeld

Certified Recreation Therapist

Hi! I'm Olivia.

I’m a Certified Recreation Therapist, passionate about helping people of all ages build confidence, connection, and meaningful life skills through engaging, strengths-based leisure and recreation. I believe therapy should feel welcoming, practical, and grounded in real-life experiences—not intimidating or overly clinical.

Through evidence-based recreation therapy interventions, I support individuals in developing social skills, emotional regulation, coping strategies, and overall well-being. My approach is client-centered and flexible, meeting each person where they are while encouraging growth at a pace that feels supportive and achievable.

I strive to create a relaxed and inclusive environment where clients feel comfortable practicing skills, building confidence, and experiencing success in ways that carry over into everyday life. Whether working with children, teens, or adults, my goal is to help each individual feel supported, capable, and connected.

AOTA Conference Attendee - 2025

"Best three hr workshop I’ve been to at AOTA. The speakers were relatable, fluent, real, and overall easy to listen to. They provided a ton of information but laid out in an great and easy format that could be followed and used in the future."

The Social Exchange

A relaxed activity-based group focused on social interaction and communication.

We'll Focus On:

Social Connection

This group offers intentional opportunities to build authentic connections with others through shared activities and conversation. Participants are encouraged to engage in ways that feel comfortable while developing a greater sense of belonging and community.

Communication Patterns

Members will learn and practice practical communication tools that translate directly to everyday life, including work, family, and social settings. Emphasis is placed on clarity, self-expression, and understanding others in real-world interactions.

Leisure-Based Learning

Games and recreational activities serve as the foundation for learning, making skill-building engaging and approachable. These activities create natural opportunities to practice turn-taking, collaboration, problem-solving, and conversational flow.

Supportive Environment

The group is designed to be welcoming, respectful, and low-pressure, allowing participants to grow at their own pace. Facilitators prioritize emotional safety, encouragement, and curiosity rather than performance or perfection.

About Our PRactice

Health professions traditionally exist in silos: isolated from one another and deeply specialized. This isn't inherently a bad thing, but it means that important pieces of our clients overall healthcare slipped through the gaps between services. So an idea was born: to offer mental health services that spanned the space between mental and physical domains. OT is often utilized in a physical health setting and counseling is primarily utilized in a mental health setting. By combining and collaborating, we weave together a safety net.

We invite you to join us in cultivating a soft landing place for all those that slip through the gaps in our healthcare system. We invite you to help us Mind The Gap.
