Is "Drug & Alcohol" Counseling Just For Those in active use? Nope!

At Mind The Gap, we understand that addiction doesn’t just affect the person using substances—it impacts families, relationships, and individuals in many profound ways. Our drug and alcohol counseling services are designed to support not only those in active use but also those whose lives have been deeply affected by substance abuse.

Who Can Benefit from Drug and Alcohol Counseling?

  • Individuals in Active Use: If you’re currently struggling with substance use, our counseling services can help you address the root causes of your addiction, develop healthier coping strategies, and create a clear path to recovery. Through a combination of evidence-based therapies, we work collaboratively with you to help you regain control and move toward a life free from substance dependency.

  • Adult Children of Addicts: Growing up in a home affected by addiction can leave lasting emotional and psychological scars. Whether your parent is still using substances or has been in recovery for years, the impact can shape your beliefs, relationships, and emotional well-being. Our counseling provides a safe space to process your feelings, break unhealthy patterns, and develop a more positive sense of self.

  • Children in Families Affected by Substance Use: Children in households where addiction is present often experience confusion, fear, and neglect. Counseling can help children understand their emotions and build the skills to cope with the uncertainty and stress that addiction can bring. Our therapists work with both children and families to heal, strengthen relationships, and restore a sense of safety and trust.

  • People Who Have Lost Loved Ones to Addiction: Losing a loved one to addiction can leave you with feelings of grief, guilt, anger, and confusion. Our services support you through the process of mourning, healing, and finding peace, helping you navigate the complex emotions tied to loss and addiction.

  • Family Members of Those Actively Using: If you have a family member who is actively using substances, it can be heartbreaking and challenging. Our counseling provides guidance on how to set healthy boundaries, offer support without enabling, and take care of your own emotional health while navigating the ups and downs of having a loved one in active use.

Our drug and alcohol counseling services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual or family. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or a loved one, we provide a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that focuses on healing, self-care, and empowerment. You’ll work with our therapists to create personalized treatment plans that address both the immediate effects of addiction and the long-term healing process.

Couples & Family Counseling

By involving both partners in the treatment process, we can address any underlying issues that may be contributing to addiction. We provide a supportive environment for both partners to develop healthy coping mechanisms.

Integrative Counseling

Believe it or not, not everything works for everybody! We pull techniques from several evidence-based approaches to healing to build an approach that works specifically for you and your goals. Integrative counseling is all about meeting you where you're at!

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

"CBT" is one of the gold standards of therapy. It's based on the idea that our thoughts effect our emotions, which in turn effect our behavior and vice-versa. If we learn to notice and work with our thoughts, that has a big impact on how we feel and what we're able to do.
