Anger Management Course
One Day. A Lifetime of Better Reactions.
Service Description
Anger is a natural human emotion—but when it takes the driver’s seat, it can damage relationships, fuel poor decisions, and stand in the way of healing. This one-day intensive anger management class offers participants an opportunity to explore the roots of their anger, identify personal triggers, and gain practical tools to respond more effectively. Grounded in the evidence-based SAMHSA Anger Management curriculum, this 8-hour course walks participants through a structured, interactive learning experience. We begin by understanding what anger is (and isn’t), busting common myths, and creating a supportive group atmosphere. From there, we dive into the anger cycle, examining how emotions escalate and how personal cues—physical, emotional, and behavioral—signal when it’s time to intervene. Participants explore the powerful connection between substance use and aggression, learn how to interrupt the cycle of escalation, and begin building personalized anger control plans. Through breathing exercises, thought-stopping strategies, and role-play, individuals gain hands-on practice managing high-stress moments. Later sessions focus on developing assertive communication skills, setting boundaries, and practicing conflict resolution in real-world scenarios. We end the day with a focus on relapse prevention—helping each participant craft a sustainable plan to manage anger long after the class ends. Whether you're seeking this course for personal growth, court requirements, or to support long-term recovery, you'll leave with a renewed sense of control, self-awareness, and a concrete path forward. Participants who complete the course receive a certificate of completion.
